Make one or many Premier Inn hotels your base for your Devon visit!
With the boom in Devon holiday cottages, self-catering apartments, caravans, glamping, and even wild camping showing no sign of slowing down, it’s easy to forget that the good old-fashioned hospitality of a hotel has not completely disappeared.
In fact, if you are travelling to Devon on business or for a short stay, a Premier Inn hotel is outstanding value for money, with consistent pricing and availability that takes the hassle out of securing your accommodation at a fair price.

Devon Premier Inn hotels
Devon has 17 Premier Inn hotels, which are advantageously located for experiencing the very best that Devon offers. Every hotel is located close to strategic road and rail links, making it easy to get to your hotel and out and about for business or pleasure. We have spent odd nights at Premier Inn hotels at the extremities of the county when we travel far on a day trip, and things run late. If you don’t drive, it is easy to reach these hotels, rather than some obscure cottage out in the sticks.
What do Devon Premier Inn hotels offer?
If you are used to hauling cool bags, beddings and a full shop from Tesco to your caravan, you can have a real break at a Premier Inn hotel. In fact, the Premier Inn hotels in Devon provide the kind of practical comfort that means that all you have to do is turn up and relax. Here are some of the 5 great benefits of staying with Premier Inn in Devon:
1. Clean, spacious rooms
One thing that is great about the Premier Inn brand is the consistency and quality of service. It is a hotel chain where you can expect to rock up to a clean, fresh, well-ventilated room which will suit you and your family. There are five-key types of Premier Inn rooms (see letters in the table):
- Double (D): a double bed
- Twin (T): two single beds
- Accessible (A): complete with adjustable beds and wider entrances so that wheelchair access is simple.
- Family (F): a family can all pile in with a large room complete with kingsize beds, a couple of single beds, a sofa bed, and cots if needed. All for a price that is often less per night than a holiday cottage.
2. Cosy beds with crisp sheets
Premier Inn beds are Hypnos beds, which are renowned for their comfort. No struggling with bedsheets from home on an inflatable or caravan mattress. In the Premier Inn hotels I have stayed at, the sheets have always been clean and fresh, with more available if needed from reception. They also provide additional duvets and pillows, so you can get everything just right!
3. A hot shower and bath with decent water pressure
The bathrooms are clean and roomy with an invigorating power shower and toilet with a decent flush.
4. Delicious hot meals
You’ll have no problem feeding yourselves at Premier Inn. For us, the great-value cooked breakfasts are a no-brainer. It costs just £9.50, but you can eat as much English brekkie as you want and the kids eat for free! Friendly staff were plying them with muffins and danishes to take for their day out.
After a day out exploring towns, cities and beaches, bring your appetite with you as you can enjoy hearty meals from the in-house bar and grill. Restaurants at Premier Inn include (see letters in table):
- Beef Eater (BE)
- Brewers Fayre (BF)
- Thyme (T)
- Table to Table (TT)
5. Plentiful parking
Finding somewhere to park is one of the major headaches of any journey, and it is getting more difficult by the day. Free parking at a Premier Inn hotel may be well worth the stay, as they are so close to the attractions you want to visit.
